How we score saunas
Every sauna on this site is scored out of 10 on the same five things, weighted by how much each one changes what you end up living with. We score from the seller's own listing and specification, and we re-read every price before it goes on a page. We don't claim to have sat in every cabin, and no review says we did.
The five criteria
| Criterion | Weight | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Walls and build | 30% | Timber species and treatment, wall thickness, roof, door and glazing |
| What the price includes | 25% | Heater, stones, benches, accessories and delivery, so the headline price is the real one |
| Space for the footprint | 20% | Seats, bench length and depth against the ground the cabin takes up |
| Installation and power | 15% | Base, assembly time, and the circuit or flue it needs |
| Warranty and support | 10% | Term, the conditions attached, and a UK point of contact |
Why rank order isn't always score order
Rankings weigh value as well as score. A specialist cabin can score well and still sit lower because most buyers would get more from the one above it for the money. Where that happens, the review says so.
Prices
Each price shows the date we read it and where. Sellers change prices often, and the button next to every price goes to the live listing.
